Estera spearheads Temple University visit during RIMS annual conference

Estera, a leading provider of global fiduciary and administration services, is pleased to confirm the successful completion of its acquisition of Guernsey-based Morgan Sharpe Administration Limited (“Morgan Sharpe”) following receipt of regulatory approval.

Estera, a world-leading fiduciary and administration services provider, joined an impressive Bermuda delegation attending the 2017 RIMS Annual Conference & Exhibition “Risk Revolution” in Philadelphia last week (April 23-26).

Estera’s involvement in the annual event spanned an active two-day session, including a visit to Temple University by Janita Burke, Bermuda-based Client Director of Corporate Services at Estera. Ms. Burke, together with Lisa Zimmaro, AVP Risk Management & Treasury at Temple coordinated the meeting on April 25, and was accompanied by Premier Michael Dunkley and Finance Minister E.T. (Bob) Richards. They were welcomed by Temple University President Richard Englert and Dean Moshe Porat, and given a tour of Temple’s Fox School of Business Risk Management & Insurance Programme.

“It was a privilege to join Premier Dunkley and Finance Minister Richards in making a trip to visit the talented faculty and future professionals at Temple University, including two Bermudian 2018 graduates of the programme,” Ms. Burke said.

Estera serves as administrator of two Bermuda captive insurers, Good Samaritan Insurance Co. Ltd and Temple University Healthcare System Insurance Company, Ltd, captives of Temple University and Temple University Healthcare System, respectively. Ms. Burke serves as a director to both captives.

Lisa Zimmaro commented, “We have been able to establish personalized insurance policies that give us exactly what we desire through our Bermuda-based captives. For years, we have relied on Estera for continuity of service to keep us on track and organized while ensuring we stay in compliance with all relevant regulations.”

At the RIMS conference, Ms. Burke hosted a booth as part of the Bermuda coalition, which in addition to the Premier and Finance Minister, included Economic Development Minister Dr. Grant Gibbons, Bermuda Business Development Agency CEO Ross Webber, Bermuda Monetary Authority CEO Jeremy Cox and Brad Kading, President of the Association of International Insurers & Reinsurers (ABIR), and other industry representatives.

“The annual RIMS Conference is a valuable opportunity to share ideas and develop new relationships with the global risk community,” said Ms. Burke. “Estera is proud to represent Bermuda as a corporate service provider at the conference each year and welcomes the opportunity to meet with existing and potential users of Bermuda’s products and services.”

The four-day conference and exhibition offered more than 150 educational sessions, keynote presentations, special events and an exhibit hall with more than 400 exhibitors.

Estera serves as corporate administrator and provides directorship services to all classes of insurance companies registered in Bermuda.
